III. ORGANIZATION
Portions of Dr. Elliott's Collection arrived reflecting various filing schemes. Most of the materials were reorganized to establish a coherent arrangement. The folder contents are arranged chronologically where possible and alphabetically and chronologically where applicable within the series.
Some materials were removed to the institutional collections of the Archive. Also removed from the collection and placed in the Historical Research Center Photograph Collection were many photographs. Duplicate reports, journals and reprints already in the collection were discarded.

I. Biographical and Personal
This series has the standard biographical sources his curriculum vitae, roster of lectures, directories and articles addressing him. There are also items revealing personal and professional participation such as membership cards (Houston Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Rice, Social Security card) and certificates (Annual Certificates for the American Board of Prosthodontics).
II. Professional Career
The second series is the largest in the Elliott Collection. It documents his entire professional career. Included are materials surrounding his numerous awards, clippings from the 1930s to the 1980s, correspondence with local foundations and copies of Dr Elliott's speeches and writings. A unique group of material in this series are sets of his original speech cards.
III. University of Texas
Documented in this series is the history of the Texas Dental College and the eventual union with the University of Texas at Houston. The legislative bill creating the Dental Branch, catalogues, administrative reports and commencement programs help make up this series.
IV. Texas Medical Center
Correspondence, bylaws, legal papers on incorporation, committee reports are a some of the materials communicating the growth and changes in the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Elliott kept some copies of minutes, institutional reports, memos and programs. The original conceptual drawing for the Texas Medical Center by Karl Kamrath is in this series. Early brochures, maps and press releases illustrate the Texas Medical Center's transitions.
V. Texas Lutheran College
Dr. Elliott's involvement with the college is documented in this series. Notes, policies as well as correspondence, brochures and programs comprise it. Included are materials concerning the Max Krost Charitable Trust and Life Enrichment Center.
VI. Manuscripts and Transcripts
Transcripts from tape recordings of Dr. Elliott, interviews with Drs. Seybold and Goldwag, notes and listings of materials in the collection are filed here. This series includes the original and revised manuscripts of Dr. Elliott's history of the Texas Medical Center.
VII. Graduation Apparel
This series consists of Dr Elliott's graduation gown, two caps, and two shawls.
