The University of Texas
School of Nursing at Houston

In August 2006, Texas Woman´s University College of Nursing: Houston Center moved in its recently completed new facility. At that time, the three main nursing education programs at the Texas Medical Center were located in buildings completed in the 21st century. The University of Texas School of Nursing at Houston had occupied its own building since 2004 and Prairie View A&M University College of Nursing: Houston Center returned to the Texas Medical Center and a new building in January, 2006.

A small exhibit congratulating these institutions on their new facilities and remembering the history nursing education in Texas was on display at the HAM-TMC Library. The Library has provided resources for nurses since its beginning in the 1950's and will continue to support education for nurses with resources, including electronic ones, in the future. This on-line exhibit focuses on the historic resources which were on display. The Clinical and Research Nursing Resource Guide highlights some of the resources the Library currently makes available.
